This week I did one peer review on Amy's genre #5. I read my mailing list daily and read a few other articles on Developmental of Apraxia of speech. I didn't do a whole lot with my powepoint, I ran into a glich on my stupid computer and got frustrated and quit. I have been extremely busy this week with other things for other classes. It is very difficult to spend every waking hour on this computer. I think I have spent plenty of time though and have decent work.
I usually get this part of the week's assignments finished before sunday, but with the Pirates going to the Turf bowl....... well my mind and body have been elsewhere.
I have read and peer reviewed kelly's brochure now. I am impressed with her work. She does good work. I am learning all about speaking valves and traceostomies and all that stuff. Glad she is doing such an interesting topic.
I have to admit this week I dont feel like I have accomplished a whole lot of anything. It has been one busy week with nothing but observation hours to show for it. Oh well there's always next week.

Well this week has been eventful, maybe not academically, but a very unnerving week for me and my family. My focus really hasnt been on school this week (I am sorry to say). My family needed me and I just tried to get through with what I was capable of doing.
I read alot of everyone elses work this week when I had the chance. I think everyone is doing great. I am still working on my powerpoint. I have a few more slides to add. Not sure how I am going to add them in yet. I am working out the outline still. I thought I had it then I ran across some more information and needed to add it in. I should just post it as a draft and move, on but perfectionism is taking over.
I really appreciated everyones peer reviewing last week. The changes they suggested helped and made for a better genre for me. Thanks guys! I havent made the changes to my brochure yet, but will probably to that today. I am working on about 3 research projects right now so today is gonna have to be set to one, and well apraxia is the winner for today. I have thought long and hard about what I want to do with my project. I want to put everything in terms, so that anyone can read it and understand it. I tried to do that with my brochure and am kinda doing that with my powerpoint presentation too.
Although this week has been tough for me and my family, and we are glad it is over, we still stand stronger in living through such trials life hands us.

This week I have continued to research my project. I talked to Mrs. McComas and changed my essential question/foundation questions once again. I am very happy with the outcome. I had so many ideas for my apraxia subject. I have been working on a brochure for the parents of DAS this week also. This part was really neat, because I have never done that. I can't believe how easy it is. I even printed it out so I could see it for real! It is really a good brochure I must say so myself. I tried to put it into the average person language. If I had a child, (not being an SLP) I would want something easy to understand. I believe most people would agree. I also worked on my poem. I am not completely satisfied with it. It didn't come out the way I wanted it to. But with a few revisions I hope to perfect it. I sent in my other five resources this morning. I am also working on my powerpoint presentation a little every day or so. I also posted the information about my mailing list. That is something I really look forward to reading. I am excited when I hear a success story. I get sad when someone is having a hard time with the school system. I feel like I am a part of this community even though I just lurk around. I don't feel comfortable yet with posting something. Most people need advice or are looking for answers about an IEP. Those are not answers that I have. If something comes up that I want to share then I will definitely post.

I hope to write my journal next week. I visited Amy and kelly's blogs this week. They both have done great jobs with their genres.
I think things are progressing nicely. I have been really pressed for time this week, but have managed to spend enought time on the computer. I feel like I am getting there slowly but surely. I hope everyone else is surviving as well.
