What is a Common treatment protocol used with patients with Developmental Apraxia of Speech?

1. What is DAS?

2. What are some common characteristics of DAS?

3. What treatment programs are available?

4. How do they improve speech?

5. What are some preferred methods and why?

6. How long does it take?

Point I plan to make:

I plan to discuss the possible treatment methods used in DAS therapy and which could possibly be the better ones.

Genres, voice, audience, and rationale:

1. Poem- child's(client) point of view to the world.This will show how a child may be affected by apraxia.

2. Webliography-clinician, to classmates, instructor, etc. For class assignment.

3. Powerpoint-clinician, other clinicians and students, to educate.

4. Brochure- clinician, client, parents, client education (and might be fun).

5. Letter to parent- clinician, parent, to inform and/or update the parent( could be good practice).

6. Journal Entry- Parent, , reflection.

7. Referral letter- Primary care doctor, clinician, show collaboration and how the whole process might take place.

This is showing how each point of view is affected.
