Learning styles

Your scores were:

Visual: 1
Aural: 7
Read/Write: 2
Kinesthetic: 5

The vark inventory told me that I was a mild Aural learner. The cheat sheet really described my learning preference style. I do believe I am an aural learner. I like hands on, but I find that if I listen to other people discussing in class I learn from listening to them. I like to go home and think about what went on and write it down myself. I prefer to do it my way at home. Of course I need the instruction, but when it comes time to put it on paper, I like to be alone and able to concentrate. That probably comes from me not being able to stand background noise. A large group making noise inhibits me from concentrating like I know that I can. So I should say that I like order to the discussing and sharing that comes from the group work. I like listening to different perspectives......I just like to go home where I am able to think about it too.
So the vark got it right. No surprises.

Foundation Questions

What are the most effective steps in preparing for a diagnostic evaluation?

This was my essential question last week. For this I would probably come up with a few foundation questions like:

What is a diagnostic evaluation?

Who would be involved in this process?

What materials are needed for a diagnostic evaluation?

Where do you perform a diagnostic evalution?

What is the reason for a diagnostic evalution?

What kind of information could you get from a diagnostic evaluation?

learning highlights

My experience as a learner....hmmmm. Well I don't recall ever thinking I had learned anything until I went to college. The highschool I went to (believe it or not) didn't stress "learning". Atleast that is how I remember it. I don't ever remember actually discovering that I had learned anything, until college. I would think that that was a barrier in my process of learning. I mean good grief, if I actually knew the importance of an education early enough I might have become a rocket scientist for all I know! (just kidding...maybe) But seriously, when I sit down and consider myself learning I become excited about it. What I like most about my learning process is when someone asks me a question about something and I can just go on and on about it. It makes me feel really good inside to know that I knew that, and actually understood it enough to explain it to someone else that didn't know it. That may sound silly, but that is the sort of thing my education does for me. Besides the fact that I am actually going to know how to help a child or an adult with a communication disorder.
