Teaching students inquiry is key to building skills for research.

If I were to research like I was taught in high school, I too would find the facts and report them. I am not sure if I would have even given the whole picture much thought. I think this article stresses the importance of looking at the whole picture when inquiring on a subject. Reading, writing, and research, the three “R”s, will enable you to do that.I don’t want to spend a semester on a research project and only come up with some facts. I want to have built a knowledge base for my future endeavors. Having been a learner of only the facts, I know how important it is to gather information instead of just the facts. I too, have discovered my ability to search out the information and the evidence and interpret the results.
